Thumbs up: The KDL-EX523 from Sony is a good series of LCD TVs that are LED-based. This TV delivers good black-level depth, video processing, and its ability to decently output 1080p.24 sources. The preset for cinema function gives very accurate pictures. The automatic turn-off function also saves consumer some money. The matte finish of the screen also decreases glare when you have a bright room.
Aside from the basic functions this TV has a built in WiFi, niche videos, Qriocity, Gracenote, and other internet services.
Thumbs down: You will notice a hint of blue on the dark areas of the images plus the shadows are a bit murky. When you have a big portion of grays on the screen, you cannot help but notice the lack of uniformity.
Verdict: The Bravia KDL-EX523 by Sony gives you a solid and decent picture that goes well with its tag price as it competes with other LED TVs that have the same set of features.
It gives you good value for your money and can compete well with TVs from other popular brands. It is a good move for Sony to produce a more affordable television set that has good image quality and comes with a good set of functions. It will give you a solid value if you are looking for an affordable LED-based TV.
